A Science festival on the occasion of the centenary of relativity theory: historical insights, relevance today, and future developments
Summary of the concept of the project group “Einstein Year” at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science
The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, together with the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the Einstein Forum Potsdam, and the Haus der Brandenburgisch-Preussischen Geschichte, has taken the initiative to organize a “Science Festival” in the Einstein year 2005. This Science Festival will have two parts:
an exhibit on the life, the work, and the impact of what is generally considered the most important scientist of the 20th century.
an accompanying program of events in Berlin and Brandenburg using the iconic figure of Einstein to foster the dialogue between science and society.
